Overview

Set in 1900 BC, this novel revolves around a mythological land called Meluha and the monarchs who ruled the place. Depicted as the ideal land, the kingdom of Meluha was ruled by one of the greatest emperors in history, Lord Ram.

The novel, then, goes on to depict the numerous troubles and hazards this once-proud land and its Suryavanshi rulers had to face. The blows generally came from their rivals, the Chandravanshis of the east. The scenario worsened when Saraswati, their major river, started to dry up. Further, the partnership between the Nagas, a sinister and ostracised clan, and the Chandravanshis made life impossible for the Suryavanshis. However they have only one hope to live by: the Suryavanshis’ belief in an ancient legend that promises the arrival of a hero when all hopes would be shattered.

Is the hero Shiva, the Tibetian immigrant? Will Shiva be able to bring victory to the Suryavanshis—a clan he is seemingly drawn towards out of passion as well as dutifulness?
